Note:Current owner uses a laptop running OpCpn software at the nav station. The AIS receiver, and auxiliary portable WAAS GPS and the Raymarine interface are connected to this laptop via USB ports. The laptop feeds a multiplexed signal with this info via ethernet cable to the router under the helm seat. This router in turn broadcasts the info to iNavx software running on an iPad installed on the pedestal. This arrangement simultaneously provides chartpad, AIS and instrumentation data at both upper and lower positions. Smartphones can use similar software to serve the same function as the iPad.
