Welcome Aboard Avalon...

When approaching Avalon one has the feeling of approaching a ship, from the Portuguese bridge to the factory hardtop she is impressive.  Step aboard by way of the doors in the bulwark on either side or the large stern boarding platform with two transom doors...either way you are walking onto not "climbing aboard!"  The wide side decks are deep and secure and allow easy access and plenty of room for line handling or a morning stroll!  The aft deck's upholstered seating area is covered and features a beautiful inlaid table.  Forward, a door leads from the Portuguese bridge onto the foredeck with a built in settee and a nice area for sunbathing, secure railings and proper ground tackle gear to handle anchoring.

The Galley is open to the salon with a raised counter offering a private work space for the chef. Frig and freezer, 3 burner gas oven, double sink. microwave, trash compactor and plenty of storage along with two drawer freezers complete this state of the art galley.

The "Wine Cellar" (yes wine cellar) is accessible via a hatch in the main salon floor.  Large and finished to a high degree it has a wine rack and large pantry storage... very useful for that longer cruise!

The Raised Pilothouse on AVALON is truly the ships command center.  Equipped to safely and comfortably go anywhere regardless of weather.  Two side doors lead out onto the portuguese bridge and direct access to the upper station allow for easy handling. Second curved staircase leads to the three below deck staterooms.

The Master's Cabin is located in the center of the boat and offers the easiest motion underway.  Featuring a queen size island bed, storage and hanging lockers and direct access to a private beautifully appointed head.

The "Crews Quarters" are at the foot of the curved staircase and have two stacked single bunks, storage and a large desk.

The Forward Cabin rivals the master with it's queen size Island berth,  a large head with separate shower, built in lit cedar closets and custom cabinetry.

The upper deck on Avalon is simply spectacular!  Whether arriving from the curved staircase accessible via the aft deck or from the short set of stairs from the pilothouse you are instantly rewarded with another expanse of outdoor living space.  The factory hardtop shields you from the elements and protects you from the sun.  Whether running Avalon from one of the two helm seats, lounging at the upholstered L shaped seating area or searing Mahi on the SS Gas grill, this is the place to entertain!

Why choose Avalon...

Since its introduction in 2002, the Selene 54, an evolution of the famous Selene 53, has risen to be the most popular model in the Selene range. It’s easy to see why, with a powerful combination of live-aboard comfort and excellent long range cruising in safety for a couple and their guests. With no less than eight different living areas to choose from, including three staterooms (two with ensuite bathrooms), a galley that’s integrated with the salon, and a spacious flybridge that’ll be the envy of everyone on the dock, the Selene 54 is a comfortable home afloat. Yet it can still be handled easily and safely by a couple, thanks to the secure walk around decks and Portuguese bridge, two steering stations, and bow and (optional) stern thruster.

The hull form of the Selene 54 has a hard chine in the aft sections to reduce roll, but this merges into the traditional displacement boat’s round bilges by the mid sections, giving the Selene 54 it’s impressive range of more than 2,000 nm and an economical cruise speed of 10 knots… Her shape below the waterline and single engine create a fuel-efficient package and the big slow-turning prop responds instantly to increases in throttle and increases maneuverability. After being on board a Selene 54, owners often wonder how we’ve managed to pack so much into a 54′ boat! Well, for a start, it’s actually 59’10″ (18 m) overall, and with a beam of 16′ 8″ (5,12 m) ». The Selene 54 is definitely a displacement motor yacht meant for long-range cruising in style!

There is a big difference between a recreational “trawler” and a true ocean going passagemaker like a Selene. The ability to power with confidence across any sea or ocean in safety and comfort is chief among reasons experienced boaters go to Selene, whether their adventures are coastal, global or somewhere in between.

The differences include stronger hulls, watertight bulkheads and doors, full skeg protected propeller and rudder, backup bilge pumps, large scuppers, continuous duty engines, and automatic engine room fire extinguisher systems.

Brokers Note...

We sold Avalon to the current owners back in 2015.  They have enjoyed her and cruised her from Naples to the Chesapeake.  Avalon is in excellent condition and ready to voyage.  Currently in a slip behind our office at Haven Harbour Marine give us a call to schedule a visit to this extraordinary offering. -Tom Lippincott
